With the theme "Innovation - Sustainable Development", the event Techconnect and Innovation Vietnam 2023 officially in September 29, 2023 in Quang Ninh.

​The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) in collaboration with the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province. The activities take place in September 29-30, 2023, to promote investment cooperation, applied research, technology development and innovation, connect technology supply - demand, and enhance linkage between institutes, universities, businesses, and networks of domestic and international experts.

Promote application, technology transfer and innovation

Giving speech at the opening ceremony, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat said Techconnect and Innovation Vietnam 2023 is one of the important activities of MOST to promote application, technology transfer and innovation for businesses and local organizations in the Northern region in particular and the country in general, improving the competitiveness of goods and accelerating for scientists to apply research results. research into production and business, bringing practical results to businesses, contributing to the country's socio-economic development. Promoting cooperation and economic, trade and investment linkages, especially technology exchange between Vietnamese enterprises and foreign enterprises, promoting the role of enterprises in innovation.

Minister Huynh Thanh Dat said that the event aims to promote the application, transfer of technology and innovation for local businesses and organizations.

According to Minister Huynh Thanh Dat, the event is to demonstrate and introduce new technology trends and new products; Connecting technology supply and demand according to the needs of localities and economic regions with domestic and foreign partners to serve application, innovation and technology transfer; Support and improve the ability and effectiveness of cooperation between businesses, science and technology organizations, scientists, and investors based on domestic and international technology, promote technology transfer promotion activities, quickly bring research results into production practice and life to serve socio-economic development, with the participation of businesses, research institutes, universities, and Vietnamese and international science and technology organizations with many typical contents and activities.

​Speaking to welcome the event, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh province said that Quang Ninh aims to develop into a model province, a key economic center of the country. Based on the pillars of nature, people, culture, technology and innovation, it will help localities create high labor productivity and breakthroughs in socio-economic development. Currently, Quang Ninh has transformed the growth model from "brown" to "green", effectively developing potential, infrastructure, creating corridors, developing regional and intra-regional economies in parallel with culture.

Technological development and innovation are the inevitable foundation

At the discussion session, Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) gave a speech on "Technological innovation, energy transition to serve the country's socio-economic development". According to Mr. Le Ngoc Son, PVN was born from belief and desire for innovation. Over six decades of establishment and development, Vietnam's oil and gas industry has achieved many achievements, contributed a lot in scientific research, won many state awards in science and technology... Currently, the group has built a price chain. closed value chain, from search and exploration, gas industry, oil and gas processing, electricity industry... with great contributions to the state budget.

Also according to Mr. Le Ngoc Son, by 2023 global energy demand will increase but fossil fuels will only meet 55% of demand, oil and gas companies must face supply decline, increasing pressure to minimize impacts. environmental dynamics. In that context, companies have made a change, focusing on technological innovation solutions, committing to reducing greenhouse emissions, promoting technological innovation, and creating new products to suit market needs.

Thaco identifies technology and innovation as the inevitable foundation, prioritizing investment in S&T and has brought positive results.
