Priority technology trends of new materials

Ngày đăng: 02/10/2023

New technology of new materials will be prioritized to promote application-oriented basic research and technology transfer to innovation, autonomy and technological competitiveness in order to implement development orientation of science, technology and innovation (STI) until 2030 in Vietnam.

The abovewas exchanged by experts at the discussion session: "New material technology" within the framework of the program "TechnologySpotlight - New technology trends" of Techconnect and Innovation Vietnam 2023 in Quang Ninh.

TOverview of the discussion

At the discussion session, experts, institutes, universities and businesses exchanged information on new technology trends and priority technologies for transfer in the fields of new materials including: Textile and garment materials, common footwear and leather. bright; Advanced metal and alloy materials; Environmentally friendly polymer and composite materials; Electronic and semiconductor materials; Microchips and electronic devices; Optoelectronics and LED lighting; Materials used in the chemical, paint, and fertilizer industries; Biomedical materials; Energy storage and conversion materials; Construction materials, environmental pollution treatment.

Prof. Nguyen Quang Liem chaired the 1st Session of Technology Spotlight.

Presenting the discussion on "From materials research to producing new generation thermal imaging chips", Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Tran Thuat, Deputy Director of the Center for Nano and Energy, VNU University of Science – VNU, said that the application of thermal infrared imaging chips is very wide in different fields such as: prevention, security, smart transportation, smart buildings and improving visibility in high-tech manufacturing; Therefore, acquiring thermal imaging chip technology is of national importance, paving the way for commercialization opportunities in both high-tech civilian and military markets.

“We have developed the camera core from thermal imaging chips with protected materials and processes, by integrating with electronic components and chips supplied from key suppliers such as Qualcomm to create cameras. thermal image - normal image", he shared.

With strong competitive advantages: core technology; supply chain readiness and sourcing capabilities; strong research and development (R&D) capacity; Legal advantages and facility priorities; Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Tran Thuat believes that the future development of this product is extremely large

Discussing "Passive cooling with RARE radiant paint", Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Center for Nano and Energy, VNU, said that this is the only radiation cooling paint on the market that has three temperature reduction mechanisms with nanoparticles mixed on a polymer base such as 98% total solar reflection, 95% radiation in the transparent zone of the atmosphere and optional according to the application (thermal insulation or thermal conductivity).

Agree with Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Thi Minh Thao, Head of Science and Technology Department- VNU, said that RARE radiation paint cools 5-100C compared to other heat-resistant paints on the market. market, best dust resistance, no energy consumption, absolute cooling to air temperature in the shade.

Dr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Center for Nano and Energy, VNU shared about RARE

At the discussion session, Mr. Ho Xuan Vinh, Founder of ABACA Co., Ltd. shared about "Sustainable development of Vietnam's salt industry using NanoSalt technology". Specifically, Nanosalt technology is applied in a variety of industries and fields such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, agriculture and chemicals. From only 1 m3 of salt bile, through multi-stage separation technology, 700 kg of mineral salts of all kinds are created, helping to reduce production costs, increase purity to 99% and achieve an output of 1000 tons/year.

Considered a social impact enterprise with the goal of applying exclusive S&T to deeply process high-value products from local salt and brine, bringing nutritious salt products to consumers. low sodium content and rich in natural trace minerals, good for public health; ABACA company wants to sustainably develop the salt industry and is ready to transfer marine mineral exploitation technology to partners.

Mr.  Ho Xuan Vinh - ABACA shared about "Sustainable development of Vietnam's salt industry using NanoSalt technology"

Also in the session, experts discussed the following topics: sustainable alternative solutions for banana fiber fabric and potential uses of banana fiber; Thermal spraying technology is used to restore and improve abrasion and corrosion resistance for machine parts working in harsh environments; Material recycling technology to build high-performance, environmentally friendly ships; Technology to convert waste from the textile, garment and footwear industries into pellets, used as fuel for boiler systems, providing green conversion solutions for businesses.

Concluding the discussion session, Prof. Nguyen Quang Liem assessed that new material technologies are highly applicable in the direction of sustainable development, meeting the requirements of the science, technology and innovation development orientation up to 2030. Here, experts also discussed and sought solutions and policies to promote sustainable development of new technology fields in general and new materials fields in particular, such as: needing companionship. of the government, strengthening connections and developing the relationship "State - scientists - businesses - media -universities - people"; have a policy to attract orders for new material technology from the government to create connections between businesses and institutes and schools; Strengthen research projects applied to real production to create new product chains with new high-value material technology from available raw materials...
