On the morning of April 5, 2023, at the International Training Center of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos (ICTC), capital Vientiane, Lao PDR, the Conference on connecting technology, startups and innovation took place within the framework of Vietnam - Laos Tech-Innovation Forum 2023. This is an event jointly organized by Lao Ministry of Technology and Communications and the Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Lao Deputy Minister of Technology and Communications, Santisouk Simmalavong emphasized that the Lao government focuses on building initiatives in developing digital transformation, taking information technology as the foundation and main driving force to contribute to the country's socio-economic development.

During the period 2017 - 2022, Vietnam and Laos have had many scientific and technological cooperation activities implemented with many outstanding results, especially in the application and transfer of research results into the world. reality; Help train highly qualified scientific and technological human resources. In order to promote technology application and transfer activities, startups and innovation between Vietnam and Laos, on April 5, 2023, the Ministry of Technology and Communications of Laos and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam coordinated to organize the Workshop "Connecting technology, startups and innovation" within the framework of the Vietnam - Laos Tech-Innovation Forum 2023.

Deputy Minister Santisouk Simmalavong emphasized that this is an event that connects Vietnamese researchers and technology developers, businesses, and science and technology management agencies with government agencies and the Lao business community. to promote commercialization, application and investment in technologies in key areas of Laos such as: processing and preservation of agricultural products, renewable energy, environmental treatment, information technology. information and digital transformation.

The international conference "Tech-Innovation Vietnam – Laos 2023" includes 2 sessions: Presentation session and Discussion session. Discussion session with 2 presentations on the topics: Policies to promote technology search, transfer and innovation activities in Vietnam and recommendations for Lao PDR; Promote technology transfer and innovation in Laos, prospects for cooperation with Vietnam. Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Mai Duong , Director General of State Agency for Technology Innovation (SATI) shared a number of policies to promote technology search, transfer and innovation activities in Vietnam, as well as give recommendations to the Lao Ministry of Technology and Communications that the two sides can share experiences in developing policies on technology transfer, technology absorption and innovation; Strengthen training to improve technological capacity for businesses and S&T intermediary organizations; Share information, coordinate to deploy activities to introduce, demonstrate, and connect technology supply and demand; Coordinate the implementation of Alliance Project of Technology Transfer and Absorption Centers; The government's attention to technology transfer and innovation activities.
