Vietnam Fintech Festival 2026 is Vietnam's largest annual Fintech event, co-organised by the Vietnam Banks Association (VNBA), the State Bank of Vietnam and MAS Singapore.
2026 marks a milestone: Vietnam has for the first time surpassed 80% of adults holding bank accounts, and the digital payments market has reached USD 200 billion. The Festival is where the next steps are defined.
Key themes: • Official launch of the Expanded Fintech Sandbox — enabling controlled testing of BNPL, DeFi and domestic stablecoins • Announcement of Vietnam's CBDC (central bank digital currency) roadmap — pilot expected in Q1/2027 • Open Banking API 3.0 — new open banking connectivity standard, effective from 2027 • AI in financial fraud prevention and automated KYC
The exhibition area features 80 booths from Fintech startups, banks, insurance companies and global technology partners, with live product demonstrations.
A parallel 48-hour Hackathon offers a VND 500 million prize for the team that best solves a financial inclusion challenge.
International speakers include representatives from MAS Singapore, the Bank of Thailand, BIS Innovation Hub and Fintech leaders from London, New York and Tokyo.
