About this program
Scheme 844 — Supporting the National Innovation and Startup Ecosystem — is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Science and Technology, running continuously since 2016. The 2026 edition scales to 200 projects, focused on three national priority areas: digital transformation, high-tech agriculture, and the green economy.
Selected projects join one of seven National Innovation and Startup Support Centres across the country, gaining access to laboratories, research equipment and co-working space free of charge for 12 months. The programme connects directly with over 300 domestic and international investors through a series of roadshows and Demo Days in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Tokyo.
A mentor network of 150 experts from Google, Microsoft, McKinsey, Temasek and major Korean, Japanese and Singaporean conglomerates accompanies projects throughout the incubation cycle. Each project is assigned three specialist mentors with monthly and quarterly check-ins.
Eligibility criteria: teams of at least two people with an MVP or proof of concept in progress, total fundraising of no more than USD 500,000, and a commitment to being headquartered or operating in Vietnam after the incubation period.
